Hi, I’m Mitzi.

I am a certified Personal Trainer, Nutrition Coach and creator of the Mission Fit Pack. Fitness & nutrition has been my passion and livelihood for the past 20 years. I graduated from the University of Utah in Exercise Sport Science, completed multiple certifications in my field and continue to keep myself educated in all things fitness and nutrition so I can provide the best service to my clients, family & friends.

ON A PERSONAL LEVEL: I have completed several Spartan (obstacle) races, half marathons & relay races. I enjoy lifting, being active in the outdoors, supporting my family in their activities, party hosting and traveling with my family —ideally somewhere with an ocean, beach and plenty of beautiful sunsets!

HOW THE MISSION FIT PACK CAME TO BE: Between my son serving in the Philippines & my daughters friends serving all over the world, I quickly learned that although missionaries have 30 minutes in their morning schedule for physical exercise, MOST missionaries lack an actual plan & any equipment to complete a good solid workout. Sure, pushups, sit ups, air squats and jumping jacks are great, but they can get old REAL fast. 18-24 months is a long time to only have those bodyweight options for staying fit day in and day out! So, I set out to provide missionaries with a better option: It’s called the Mission Fit Pack:

WHATS IN THE MISSION FIT PACK: The pack comes with some basic, light weight & compact exercise equipment that can easily be packed in a suitcase from transfer to transfer AND a spiral bound, exercise PLAN to follow. The workout guide comes complete with written instructions AND visual guides to take all the guesswork out of what to do.

No more days of endless pushups and squats. No more precious time wasted trying to figure out WHAT to do each morning. No more boredom with the same workout day in and day out. With the Mission Fit Pack, missionaries will LOOK FORWARD to their workout, be much more likely to complete a workout each day AND reap the many benefits physical exercise provides!

WHY IS DAILY EXERCISE SO IMPORTANT FOR MISSIONARIES?

The benefits are numerous. Here’s just a few!

  • Heart, Muscle & Bone Health:

    • Exercise strengthens the heart, improves circulation, helps lower blood pressure, helps build & maintain strong muscles, bones and joints. Gotta be strong walking or riding a bike day in and day out!

  • Weight Management:

    • Daily physical activity contributes to weight control, a healthy metabolism & helps prevent obesity. Maintaining a healthy weight makes every day tasks much more manageable.

  • Mental Health Benefits:

    • Because of the release of endorphins (natural mood lifters) during physical activity, daily exercise is recommended as THE BEST strategy for reducing stress, anxiety & depression. And lets be real — a mission is stressful!

  • Improved Sleep:

    • Regular physical activity can help regulate sleep patterns and improve the quality of sleep. What missionary wouldn’t want to sleep like a baby after their long days work?

  • Enhanced Immune System:

    • Exercise boosts the immune system so our bodies can have a better chance of fighting off illness. This is SO important for missionaries. No one wants to be confined to their apartment for days on end due to their own illness OR that of their companions!

  • Increased Energy Levels:

    • Exercise improves endurance and overall energy levels so missionaries can accomplish everything they set out to do each day!

  • Better Digestive Health:

    • Regular exercise can help with digestion and promote regular bowel movements... Enough said on that one!

  • Improved Brain Health:

    • Regular exercise has been linked to better cognitive function, memory, and learning. Missionaries need all the help they can get as they prepare to teach the gospel - especially in a foreign language.

  • Better Self-Esteem and Confidence:

    • When we engage in a regular exercise program, we ultimately feel, move and look better — thus, building self esteem and confidence.

A healthy & strong missionary is a happy & productive missionary!
